There was only one thing that could have prepared me for the shock I felt on election night 2016, and that is the straight up FURY I felt watching the season finale of Project Runway season 8. Seriously? Gretchen?! It's been long enough to where I've calmed down a bit, because let's be real, Drape King Michael Costello had the last laugh. Somehow.

But I digress. I'm here for Mondo. If you have never watched PR here's what you need to know: Season 8 is notoriously the most controversial (and my favorite). It had the best characters/personalities, and some of the best designs. It also is where some of the judges

fully lost their minds. Remember when Tim Gunn himself BLASTED the judges for their behavior? For non-viewers, you must know that Tim is the king of decorum and NEVER gets mad or criticizes the judges' decision. This is how messed up the finale was. Need I remind you that Heidi herself wore one of his designs? I don't know why I'm trying to explain when all you need is to look at their final collections.

Patterns are a daunting thing to try and mix - especially when you aren't a designer or someone with a MoMA membership or something. As someone who errs on the side of simplicity, Mondo's designs challenged me to shake things up a bit. Don't get me wrong, I still use caution. I'm not at a place where I can successfully put something like this together.
