So not many people know this about me, but I studied abroad in PARIS a couple years back (fabulous, I know). I went to the city of love hoping to eat some dope bread and meet Emmanuel Macron (I did one of these things), but I came away with so much PRACTICAL fashion and style knowledge.

Oh la la, we all know that Pair-ee is one of the fashion capitals of the world, but if I had to describe the typical Parisian's wardrobe in one word, it'd be SIMPLICITY. A lot of people fly into CDG with rosé-colored glasses, forgetting that it's just a city where people live and work and struggle to pay rent for gross apartments. Honestly, all you can ask for in a night out is to see as few rats as possible. Shrug.
That being said, everyone just shops at Zara and H&M. That's it. Really. You could stop reading there and be fine.
But to master the everyday Parisian look here's what you need:
One nice pair of skinny jeans (no leggings pour l'amour de Dieu)
A shirt or blouse (no t-shirts)
White Adidas
Sounds like a plate of hot garbage, I know, but this is the one outfit i saw every single day on the metro, at restaurants, in school, out to eat and everywhere else. If I learned ANYTHING at my time at Sciences Po, its to just STOP TRYING SO HARD !
Parisian life is all about joie de vivre, taking 3-hour lunch breaks and being (justifiably) rude when someone is too loud on the metro. They can't be bothered to spend too much time on their outfits, mostly because they're all just naturally beautiful (bitches).
