Master couturier Guo Pei was first introduced into western fashion when Rihanna wore her 55 pound gold cape to the Met Gala in 2015. Since, she has become perhaps the most well-known Chinese designer in America, and the second Asian designer to become a guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. Her clothes famously go beyond trends and wearability to play with detail and structure in a really innovative way that we just aren't seeing from other designers.

The aptly named "Alternate Universe" FW 2019 collection contemplates death and the afterlife, shown on a sandy floor under arches made of intertwined branches, populated by a murder of crows.

The first piece, easily being the most memorable, is an ornate two-person gown, conjoined at the waist above a pannier skirt. The intricate detailing brings us to hell and back, occupying a unique space of glamorous macabre.

The rest of the collection follows suit, invoking images of religion, bird cages and Chinese folklore with style elements ranging from the Renaissance to mid-twentieth century.

After beiges, silvers, blacks, golds and blues, the last dress is vibrant with overgrown orange and yellow flowers in a tomblike structure.

Seeing this collection makes me wonder how there weren't dozens of celebrities vying to be dressed by Guo at the 2019 Met Gala--the flawless craftmanship and over the top structures and concepts behind her designs embody high camp. And for such an amazing theme, the outfits this year were so disappointing.

So basically, what I'm saying is "Hey Anna Wintour, please invite me to the Met Gala so I can turn a look and get dressed by Ms Guo Pei." Because after seeing the Alternate Universe collection, she can have everything I own. Take it Guo! All I have is yours!
